Norden Code of Ethics
Norden SG is a non-profit organization that is intentional in being inclusive to all individuals from all backgrounds. We love our city; we love FC Cincinnati; and we love the supportive community we have with one another. With that comes expectations for respectful behavior and seeking the common welfare of all. When we raise our glasses at Grainworks Brewery or Symphony Hotel, or raise our voices in song, we are one voice to promote good for all. Whether we be at home at TQL stadium, or we travel to an away stadium, we seek the greater good of the love of all soccer culture and fans and the mutual respect for the beautiful game in how we treat others. It is with this expectation of respect for the greater good that we will not tolerate any behavior that targets people, supporters, or players based on their individual characteristics such as race, religion, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, appearance, or political affiliation. We will not accept anyone, at Norden events or on matchday, engaging in the use of racial or ethnic slurs, derogatory or demeaning language, unwanted or inappropriate behavior towards persons of the opposite sex, excessive vulgarity or profanity, physical harm against others, or threat of physical harm towards others. The same expectations apply to our Discord community and social media outlets. All instances of the above break the honor code and can result in the revocation of SG membership. To wear the Norden scarf is to commit to acting with honor and respect for others.
We recognize that it falls upon us to stop this behavior when we see it, and that we shall not be a group that stands idly by while our values and mission are compromised. We commit to immediately report violations of our Honor Code to the Norden Leadership Board for proper evaluation. Furthermore, in the case of illegal activity, all members should report any illegal activity that is witnessed on matchday or at Norden events to appropriate law enforcement officials.
Norden SG is a family friendly community that is committed to raising support for FC Cincinnati and ‘enjoying each other’s company along the way’. Those values and ideals are worth protecting for all. We are the Keepers of the North!
