To my fellow Nordenites,
I wanted to drop a note at the end of the 2021 campaign to inform you of a couple events coming up. Mark your calendars on Friday 11/12 for the USMNT vs. Mexico match as our Symphony Biergarten will open at 5:00 p.m. and remain open through the match for any who want to watch from there. Cheer on our boys to 3 points in this massive World Cup Qualifier in our Queen City!
Also, November 14th at BC Bottle Lodge in Liberty Township we will be co-hosting a Friendsgiving with BC regulars and any Nordenites that want to partake. We hosted one in 2019 and it was a massive hit with the most delicious dishes in the North country. It’s a potluck, bring your best dish and then dig in. Yancey did a super cool video of this event you can check out here: https://fb.watch/95b0wvFYOw/
Also want to announce that we have voted as a Board to add a new position of “Event Coordinator” and invited Melissa Heald to fill that role and she has agreed! We’re excited not just to have Mel leading the charge but also to add to our diversity of voices at the table to make us better at serving and growing our supporter community.
What an incredibly challenging year on the pitch - so disappointing to earn yet another wooden spoon, but for some reason I am believing in the leadership of Chris Albright and believe we have good days ahead. We don’t have an MVP award, but I got teary eyed every time I looked in the Bailey and saw ONLY the Norden flag waving proudly by the honorable Jim Benson - untiring and unrelenting support. That’s the stubborn and passionate support of the Vikings of the North!
We will get communication out about some off-season events to stay connected and hang out in the off season because once again, the best part of it is us simply enjoying each other’s company along the way.
WE ARE THE KEEPERS OF THE NORTH!
Chris Marshall, Norden President
